Tree as Me

I am fascinated by the tree.

You should be too!

I am fascinated by its form, its beauty, its presence, and by its life giving nature.

I am sickened by the disrespect that men have given them.

I am saddened to see a tree that has been cut down or torn away from its roots.

To me, the plight of the tree is a glimpse into the plight of man

I tend to see the tree as a mirror of our own existence. it is a reflection of humanity and the modern world. It gives us so much more than we give back.

We’ve cut them down, burnt them for heat, used them to build homes, to form our ships. They hold our power lines, hold our words. They have been used for weapons, for torture, and for our coffins.

They provide us with shade, with food, medicines, and with beauty. They give us life.

They give us the air we need to breathe.

They are not a thing to waste. They are surely the other half of what we are.

Without trees, we would not exist.

I see trees as a form of me.

I also see them as a form of you.
