Frivolous image-making, photographic or otherwise, is entertainment better suited for a more perfect world than ours. Burying our heads in vapid imagery will end us. Critical and thought provoking imagery will always be with us. It is what makes photography and art such powerful mediums for human communication.

Our world needs us to pay attention to what we humans are doing to ourselves. Photography is a state of mind. Seeing, questioning and revealing are fundamental aspects of all art. Anything else is secondary at best. Trivia perpetuates blind ignorance. Fantasy that doesn’t express a truth is a waste of life.

Truth is what can push humanity into a livable future.
