Creative Creatures – Art As Self

Creative Creatures – Art As Self

Photography is about personal expression. It is not a platform for sameness. Sameness in artistic expression is a form of plagiarism. It also shows us a falsified expression of self. Instagram and other photography websites should act only as inspiration, rather than a how-to.

“If you have seen it before, DON’T SHOOT IT.”

The best art is the art that comes from one’s own vision. Not from someone else’s view of the world.

The advice my teachers gave to me — “If it is anything you have seen before, DON’T SHOOT IT.” See the world from your perspective and show that perspective to the world.

That is what makes art uniquely yours. That is what makes your work something unique. It makes it your vision.  It is a uniqueness that separates us all as creative creatures.

How well you speak with your work will determine how people understand what you are thinking. Art is the voice of the present — the voice of our time.

You need to see what is happening. Art is the voice of your vision.

Your view is important and so is your passion. Make sure you are speaking in your own voice.
