Art is not a contest.

True Art is not meant to be a commodity. It is not a thing that you simply buy and sell. Its worth is not in money.

Art is not to be decided by a panel of judges, a person who seems to know, or a bunch of people in a Facebook group.

Art is not what many think it is. Art is a thing that comes from within the artist. It is a statement of sorts about something both internal and external. It is about interpretation.

Art has a role to play in making us think. Art acts as a type of social conscience of and for our lives. It, the good stuff at least, proclaims what we are as human beings. Its purpose is to look at the world, as it exists to help us to see ourselves.
Art is a means to understand each other. It is a look into another person’s mind through their eyes and their perspectives on human existence.

Art is our mirror. It is a picture of who we are. Art is a road map that we can use to see our progress as human beings.

Humans need to understand that it is a measure of what we have done, who we are, and what we might become as a species.

Art is a form of creative intelligence created by intelligent humans. It is the human mind looking at the world through perceptive eyes and questioning minds.

Arts’ worth is in what it tells us and how we respond.
