All of a sudden the world seems different. You’ll be amazed at what you can see when you just get out and have a closer look. For me, it is when the magic happens.

Photography is a relatively new art form. It has only been around for a bit over a century and a half. In the scheme of almost every other form of the arts, that is a very small amount of time. In many ways, photography owes itself to all the arts that came before it.

You have a story that you can tell. It is a story waiting for you to express in your own voice and in your own way. It takes time and practice and the right frame of mind. But that is a goal that can lead to seeing and ultimately to understanding.
I was recently given the beautiful Hasselblad above by my dear friend,…… American Ground Zero: The Secret Nuclear War: Carole Gallagher, a startling look at the effects of atomic fallout from the nuclear testing in the American West on those people who lived downwind. Carole’s beautiful black and white photographs taken of the victims and families who were affected by radioactive contamination are a dramatic account of their involuntary participation in the atomic age.
